Argan Oil Cold Pressed Organic Argania Spinosa.

Our cold pressed virgin Argan oil is 100% organic. Known by the Moroccan Berber community as the "Tree of Life", the Argan tree has supported the people of these arid regions and their livestock for centuries. The leaves and fruit sustain goats, camels and sheep. Cattle live off the press-cake that remains after the oil has been extracted, the people eat the oil and the nut shells are used for fuel. Argan oil is produced from the kernels of the tree which is a laborious process taking about 12 - 20 hours of hand processing to produce one litre of oil making it one of the rarest and most expensive oils of its kind in the world. Often used as a culinary oil Argan has twice as much vitamin E as olive oil and is rich in anti-oxidants, carotenes, squalene and has 80% unsaturated fatty acids but Argan oil has also been documented since the 13th century as a wonderful aromatherapy oil that can be used to nourish and add life to hair, on the nails to strengthen and as a fantastic skin oil. The active substances called triterpenoids that occur in this oil offer amazing skin protection benefits and thus it is considered an effective anti-aging oil due to properties such as the high levels of vitamin E /tocopherols (anti-oxidants help neutralise free radical damage, which is important for skin exposed to polluted Western environments) and saponins (skin-softening agents). Besides cooling and soothing inflammation, it is also reputed to help reduce wrinkles by restoring the skin's hydro-lipid layer. Argan oil is suitable for skin prone to psoriasis, eczema, dry patches and acne and can also help ease the irritation of chicken pox. It's said to reduce scarring and prevent stretch marks. Argan can be used neat on the face and body as a natural beauty treatment. Applied to the skin it is a dry oil that's instantly absorbed and leaves a silky feel that helps improve the skin's appearance and texture. The Berber women have used Argan oil for centuries to protect and nourish their skin, hair and nails from the harsh conditions in which they live and now Argan oil is rapidly gaining popularity as a "miracle ingredient" in the Western beauty product industry especially for use on the hair. Its uniquely versatile formula helps to smooth split ends and restore the appearance of damaged hair providing a healthy looking radiant sheen. To use- Rub the oil between the palms of the hands and massage into the skin daily or just massage straight into the areas of the body ready to receive extra care. Add a few drops to a bath to soften the skin. Brush through static or dry hair. Massage a drop into the nails to strengthen and protect or use as an ingredient in other massage oils, creams, lotions, shampoos or conditioners.

Beeswax (Cera Alba) (White Pellets)

Bees wax is produced by honey bees as an exudation from the segments on the underside of the abdomen after gorging on honey or sugar syrup. The bees huddle together in the hive to raise the heat of the group to stimulate the process. Our beeswax is sold as white pellets and will melt at 64C (147F). Beeswax should be melted in a water bath in stainless steel, plastic or tin plated containers as iron, brass or copper containers can colour it. Never place the beeswax pellets directly into a pan or onto a burner as beeswax does not boil, rather it just gets hotter and hotter until it ignites and can cause a fire or can just become damaged by localized overheating. Beeswax is used in soaps, lip balms, and lotion bars as a hardener and thickener or in combination with other oils in creams and lotions where it forms a type of soap that acts as an emulsifier. The white beeswax pellets that we stock easy to measure and handle. Free Large Jerry Can

We now have an excess stock of empty extra-large jerry cans which we are giving away! Why are they free? Simply because we want to see these recycled and re-used. We often build up an excess stock of 25 and 23ltr jerry cans which we find hard to get rid of. We can put them in our bin or take them to a tip but we know they will only go into landfill from here which we do not want for obvious environmental reasons but also because they are so useful for so many things and clean empty ones retail for a fortune. We only charge £2.99 for the postage to you as we send them separate to all orders but if you are near to our base in Skipton, North Yorkshire please drop me an e-mail to arrange collection with no charge at all. What you get- The jerry cans are all the 23 or 25ltr size and can be blue, black or white. They have contained carrier oils such as sweet almond, grape seed etc. or bubble bath and shampoo bases. They are empty but not cleaned out inside. We do store these in our yard when empty so they may also need a clean down on the outside. We simply put them in a bin liner, tape it up and post them out. We decided to put them on line as we had so many people passing asking to take them explaining how handy they are but we now have more drums than passing people. A few uses I know about are water storage when camping or on boats etc. Rain water collection for re-use and watering plants, oil storage, as weights (very heavy when full of water and used to tie tents and marques to or to simply hold things down). Many outdoor events companies have used them plus they are used on building sites and our local council often pick the odd one up in their van. If you don’t mind giving them a clean inside and out they are a great bargain and you are doing us and the environment a favour by re-using them.

Grape Seed oil is a preferred cosmetic ingredient for damaged and stressed tissues because it possesses regenerative and restructuring qualities, which allow a better control of re-hydration of the skin. Jojoba Oil (Simmonsia Chinensis)

Pure Jojoba oil can be used directly on the skin to assist in fighting wrinkles and moisturise extra dry or old skin as well as skin plagued with many other ailments or problems. It assists in minimizing lines and wrinkles and can actually help rejuvenating the skin and encourage new cell growth without clogging the skin with greasy oil. Jojoba oil will not block pores or hair follicles which remain open so can function freely, cause blackheads or promote acne. It is suspected that jojoba oil tricks the skin into stopping the production of sebum by somehow mimicking it. This also means that Jojoba oil will assist in breaking down sebum in plugged pores and the sebum can mix well with jojoba oil without sealing off the skin pores. Dermatologists have also reported Jojoba oil as been non-irritating use for acne, spots and blemishes. Jojoba oil is rapidly absorbed by the skin and another remarkable property is that it is non-greasy and leaves no oily after-feel making it a wonderful skin oil or massage base. One of the most popular oils we sell due to it?s all round benefits including fighting wrinkles as well as dry, or oily skin. Jojoba oil assists in fighting lines due to dryness and keeps the skin supple and soft, it is made from a bean and the resultant jojoba oil is golden coloured, odourless, non-allergic and actually a liquid wax which can solidify easily, if that happens just place bottle in a warm place or warm water for a few moments. The chemical content of jojoba oil is very much like that of the sperm whale oil, you could see jojoba oil as the vegetarian substitute for sperm whale oil. Simply place a few drops of pure Jojoba oil in you palms, rub hands together and gently massage the oil into your clean skin or use it as carrier oil adding essential oils for fragrance.

Olive Oil (Olea Europaea)

Olive Oil (from Olea europaea) is extracted from the flesh of the fruit rather than the stone or ''kernel'' and is cold pressed. The olives are first left to dry in the sun until they begin to ferment. They are then gently crushed, the stones are removed while still whole, then the flesh of the remaining fruits is pressed. The oil extracted in this way is then centrifuged and filtered. This relatively lengthy extraction process means that olive oil is also relatively expensive compared with other similar oils.
